Information For
First Time Cruisers

Booking Your Cruise

1.what countries would you like to visit on your cruise?

On your cruise you can expect to visit many different countries, how many will depend on the length of your cruise and the itinerary, unless you plan on cruising alone it may be worth discussing with your family were you would like to go so that everyone is happy

If you don’t want to fly you would have to find a cruise that embarks and disembarks from a port near to your home, this may limit you especially if you wanted to go on a particular ship, be sure to check that the ship does disembark at your preferred port otherwise you would have to fly home the cruise itinerary should confirm this. also consider that if you don’t live close to the port you will need to get there and back if you are taking your car and plan on leaving it at the port there may be a charge for parking.

Some cruise companies may offer a complimentary bus or coach service to the port, if this is the case once you have put your luggage on the bus you will not  see it again until it appears outside your cabin,it may also involve you leaving the day before or travelling overnight, and the bus will have to stop several times on the way to the port to pick up additional passengers

4.Do you want to book a no fly cruise?

Ships come in all shapes and sizes and will have plenty of things to do to keep you from getting bored, smaller ships may have a limited amount of activities compared with the larger ships but their will still be plenty to keep you entertained, also keep in mind  that if you want to go on a particular ship you may have to fly out to meet the vessel

3.Do you want to go on a particular ship?

The total cost of your cruise should not be under estimated, for example a cruise costing £3000 will probably be twice this amount once you have added things on like shore excursions, your onboard account, tips and gratuities, spending money for gifts etc see this example of a cruise I went on and how the costs add up

2.How much will it cost?

Before booking your cruise you will need to take the following into account.
